More Black dogs die each year then any other color.

Shelter all over the country deal with a common problem called BLACK DOG SYNDROME

1) You Tube Video (5 min) - 2) You Tube Video ( 3 min)

Did You Know:   The general public is not aware of how doomed black dogs are when they are brought to a pound. Black dogs are euthanized at a horrifying rate at pounds & shelters because people pass them up for lighter colored dogs.

The shelters kill them first! The rescues save them last! New homes overlook them! Black is a dominate gene and thus there are more black dogs in the world then any other color! You do the math!

Why are black dogs the last ones to be adopted?

"Just too ordinary"
"Can't see thier eyes"
People don't notice them because of thier dark color, they blend into the background

Foster Home Notes: Patrick is a wonderfully smart boy. He loves to come up and put his head on my lap for love. He also loves to play with the other dogs or lay around and chew on a bone. He really likes the 10 lb puppies we have and loves to lay with them and let them chew on him. Patrick comse when called and goes in his crate "bed" when told. He loves his treats and expects one each time he goes to bed. :) He is such a great dog. He doesn't jump and he just likes to hang out. Patrick is not leash trained. He just doesn't seem to want to walk. He walks about 20 feet then sits down and starts looking around! LOL

Foster Home Notes: Lola loves to lay on her dog bed and chew on her toys or bones. She sits on command and at the vet she though everyone who walked in the door was there to see her. She doesn't pull on leash but stands up and wiggles her butt to say hello there! She is great with other dogs and even gives them kisses in the face.

MacShine is sponsored by Gigi B. - Thank you!

Foster Home Notes: MacShine is a very loving, high energy dog. She wants so much to be loved and to show how loyal she is to her person. She also loves to run and play with the other dogs and has no reaction when one of them growls at her. She just prances off to find another playmate. She loves to stand in the babypool to cool off and she loves to chase toys. She hasn't mastered bringing them back but that may come with time. MacShine needs someone with dog experience to train her. She is very active, does not walk on a leash, and thinks she is the size of a chihuahua. We are currently breaking her of the desire to leap into our arms. LOL She needs a home who has a tall fenced yard or someone who is a runner. She has alot of playful energy to spend but you wouldn't know it at this moment, b/c she is passed out asleep in my floor. LOL

Foster Home Notes: Callie is a wonderfully sweet girl with a heart of gold and eyes that look so sad all the time. She will comes up to me and stand up gently b/c she wants to be hugged and have her belly rubbed. Her old mom used to do this with her. She is very gentle and listens well. She gets along great with all my dogs, big or small and even walks away when my dominate spaniel guards her food. Callie grew up with several chihuahua so she is used to small dogs as well. Callie does not need a crate but I do crate her at my home only b/c I have so many dogs. She goes in when told and sits on command. She is very smart and all she wants is to be spoiled rotten. We are working with Callie on one issue. She becomes too attached and can be protective her her human. We are taking her out and about to get her adjusted to new people and places and it is going very well. She will need a home who can continue our efforts

Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Callie is about as happy go lucky and jovial as they come. Everything in life is exciting and all she wants is to be loved. When I am sitting down, she will come up to me and pull on my shirt sleeve to get my attention. If I am ignoring her while in the kitchen, she will tug on my pants leg. She is very smart. Yesterday I filled up her water bowl then got distracted on the phone. She stared at me and finally gave up and decided she could reach it in the sink! LOL She is a character and such a wonderful dog. She will need a home who can spend some time with her training her. She is totally housebroken but has not had anyone spend time to teach her to sit or come or anything like that. She is great with my other dogs and will bark when she needs to go outside. I do crate her at night but she is free with a dog door all day and is fine.

Name Abigail Urgent Foster Home needed

Age 5 years old
Size 55 lbs
Housebroken Yes
Crate Trained Yes
Good with Kids Yes
Good with Dogs Yes
Good with Cats Yes

Abigail has no sponsors
Monthly Sponsor's Needed - $20!!!

Foster Home Notes: Abigail sits, shakes and loves belly rubs. She was a love bug at the adoption event but very attached to her mother. She barked when she walked off of course. Apparently she follow her everywhere when at home. Abigail looks like she has a huge scar under her coat on her left side. The hair doesn't call flat there and it feels different. Her mom said it was like that when she got her. This would be a great dog for a retired couple
