Scarlett is such a wonderful girl but he color and her breed has caused her to be homeless now for over 2 years, since her owner died. :(

When Scarlett came to us she has been living with two small dogs and a cat. Her mother spoiled her, taking her for walked every day and letting her sleep in the bed. She had found Scarlett a year earlier with a huge open wound from the back of her neck to her butt. The vet said it could have been from her climbing under something that ripped her skin open or could have been a burn from something like cheap flea medication. I helped her human mom with several dogs and cats that she had rescued from the streets. Then I got the call that her mom had died and the remaining dogs, including Scarlett, needed to be rescued now.

Scarlett was heartbroken of course b/c due to her not getting along with dogs she doesn't know, she had to be allocated to a large dog pen at the kennel house. She went from sleeping in the bed to living as an outside dog and being crated at night. Over time, we worked with Scarlett and now she has a large group of dogs she plays with on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we also have some dominate dogs she can not be with so she still spends alot of time alone in her pen.:( She has play time at night when many of the dogs are already in bed. She runs around happily, jumps on the bed, checks out what she missed during the day, then she goes in her crate to sleep. She is so smart and super sweet, she just needs a human who understands her needs.

Her only issue: she has to be introduced over time to new dogs. She walks perfectly on the leash, listens like a human and just wants to be loved and get back to a real home. She is now over 5 years old. She just needs YOU!

Baby is wonderfully sweet and full of energy. She settles down and loves to curl up on her dog but but she also loves to play and the stimulation of living at the kennel house keeps her active. I know she longs for a home of her own. She is housebroken and crate trained. She sits but needs some work on leash walking and settling down when you first get home. She is such an adorable little bundle of muscle you can't help but love her. She is great with other dogs and kids. I would say no cats

Dharma is very smart and high energy when there is a ball involved. She loves to chase a ball and will do so for as long as you will throw it. She also knows how to entertain herself. She will go to the top of the hill and roll the ball down so she can chase it or she will just chew on it for a while. When inside, she loves her toys and bones but also wants to sit next to you on the couch and get lots of love. She is very chill when inside. Dharma goes in her crate on command and sits for treats. She listens very well and gets along great with all dogs and humans. She hasn't been around a cat so I don't know how she would be.

Krissy is a very shy little girl with new people but she warms up very quickly. She LOVES to play and has thoroughly enjoyed not only raising her litter of pups but taking on the role of surrogate mom to another litter b/c that mom wants to have her own life. LOL She is so full of love and personality. She is so funny when she plays "fetch". She is actually chasing the other dogs down the yard but has no interest in what they are chasing b/c she usually has her own toy in her mouth running around with it making funny noises.

She needs a home without small kids since we have never had her around them and she is so shy. She REQUIRES A SECURE FENCED YARD. She freaks out on a leash and we have been unable to work with her b/c we have so many dogs at the kennel house. She needs someone who will be patient and let her come to you b/c it may take a couple of days and it will take a few weeks for her to get comfortable in a new home with new people. Don't let her shyness scare you off. She is such an awesome dog. We prefer a home that has ANOTHER DOG b/c she seems more comfortable with dogs then people.

If you are thinking of getting two dogs, Krissy and Mozzie are bonded. She thinks that is her son b/c she raised him. He is not but we won't tell them.:)

History: Krissy was living stray and pregnant in an industrial complex in Marietta. No one knows where she came from but most likely she was dumped. She was so scared and wouldn't come to anyone so we had to set a trap. Bless her heart, she was so hungry she went right inside. She has been with us since the end of May 2014 when she had a litter of pups. (We still have two of her pups: Spot and Butler, listed on the large dog page b/c they outgrew her by alot!)

Macy is a wonderfully sweet girl but very shy of new things and new people. She has been at the kennel house for over a year now and just stays in her room where she feels safe. She loves me and loves to be petted but still if I move too fast she ducks. She will need a secure fenced yard and someone who is willing to just wait it out and let her come to them. A person who can ignore her and talk to her without looking at her. Someone who has the patience to let her come to you even if it takes a week because once she loves you she is yours for life!

Roxy is a very good girl who loves to play with the other dogs and walk through the baby pool. She listens well and is very smart. She used to love to play chase, toss around toys and lounge on the deck. She used to adores tennis balls but any toy would do. Now she has been here at the kennel house for so many years she has a broken spirit. She just lays around now. She is interjects herself when playtime gets too rough between dogs and she thinks they need to settle down. She likes to just supervise most days but when we go on walks she is so happy and wags her tail.

She is still with us b/c she has always had potty issues. She requires a home with a dog door so she can go in and out of the house when she needs. This is most likely why she was dumped at a kill shelter.

History: I was at Clayton County Animal Control pulling a dog when they asked if I could take Roxy. Her owner had brought her in at 8am. Being a small major kill shelter, they kill owner turn in dogs and cats immediately. No chance for rescue or adoption. The vet was coming in at 8.30 and they needed her out of the building. Of course I took her! (I came home with 9 dogs that day)

Amanda is a funny, young hearted girl who loves to explore the backyard, go for walks and chase squirrels. She bounces when she's happy and loves everyone she meets. She sleeps well all night on her dog bed and is ready to go outside to potty first thing in the morning. Amanda loves chew bones like raw hides, durabones, etc. She has been here for several years b/c the right home has just never met her. She is ready for a forever home that has a gentle voice and a gentle hand.

I pulled her from a kill shelter on her last day available. That was three years ago. I was pulling the dog in her kennel run and I couldn't bare to leave her to die.

Sabrina is a love bug. She is great with other dogs, cats and people once she knows you. She has always been shy from the day I pulled her out from under a tree. Her mother, McKenzie, and her siblings, were living alone in the woods under a fallen tree where the pups were born. I had seen McKenzie and followed her to find her puppies. Sabrina was the last one I got out bc she ran to the back and growled at me. LOL She was only 3 weeks old! As a puppy Sabrina was the first to play with toys and she loved her ball but no one ever adopted her. As she grew up in a house/kennel with 30 other dogs, she started to retreat into a shell and became very shy. This happens to alot of the dogs that don't get adopted quickly. She and her mother were adopted years ago together and were returned b/c the owner has some major health issues.

Sabrina has lived with cats now and she ignores them. She is very smart and LOVES car rides. If you open the car door she is in there in a second and won't get out until she has a ride!

Sabrina is totally housebroken, wants to be on the bed but is perfectly happy in her own bed. She does not need a crate but she does need a fenced yard. We are looking for a home to spoil her. A home with NO KIDS b/c I think they would scare her to death. She will also need ANOTHER DOG and time to adjust to someone new. She is very shy and scared of alot of things. Her mother got adopted last year so she no longer has her for comfort.

Lucy is as sweet and smart as she is beautiful. She is young and playful. She loves to play with the other dogs and will dart back and forth tempting them to chase her. She is good with her toys and will put them in the other dogs face to play. She goes in her crate on command and sleeps all night. She has been completely housebroken. Lucy is a very active dog and will require someone who exercises a lot or is willing to go outside and play with her in a fenced area. She can jump a short fence so a 6 foot fence will be required or leash walking. She gets very excited to get love and although we are working on her keeping all four feet on the ground when you pet her, she loses her mind when she see's her favotire volunteer here and is just a huge wiggle butt.

Lucy can not go with small kids. She has been abused and I don't know how she would handle small kids pulling on her or getting in her face. She was not a fan of having he collar touched when we first got her but we have worked on this and she is fine how. She will need some training b/c she is very busy on a leash and although she listens well, sits, goes in her crate when called, etc, she is hyper. She's a husky mix. That's what you get when you put Husky in there. LOL

Kylie is a very happy, playful girl who just wants to be loved and to please. She is still very bouncy having spent her life on the streets of Atlanta with no training but she is learning quickly. She knows that she needs all four paws on the ground to be loved on but she seems to forget herself and stand up on me still. She geos in her crate when told and is completely housebroken. She and Dharma (another dog for adoption) play all day. They play chase, tug, chase squirrels. She has alot of puppy energy in her but she is also a huge cuddle bug. When she is tired she is so precious. She tries to keep her head up but her eyes keep closing and she head starts to fall, then she will pop back up until she just finally gives in an falls over and goes to sleep. LOL She will need leash training.
