Foster Home Notes: Maggie is an amazing girl full of smiles all the time! She loves to get cookies and play chase with the other dogs. She loves to be loved in general. She has a special puppyish spirit about her that makes you fall in love with her quirkily little personality. She loves her bones but destroys stuffed animals. She can sit at the fence for hours and stare at things only she can see LOL If you want a lovable cute, unique looking baby girl this is the one!

History: Maggie was left at an animal sanctuary farm when she was found running lose. No one ever claimed her.

Foster Home Notes: Mazie is the best of both worlds. She is loving and cuddly yet she loves to play with other dogs. Mazie can run and play tug of war with the best of them but mostly she loves to lay on her bed and chew on her toys or bones. She also commands a spot on the bottom of your bed if that is where you are at the time. She is very very smart and I swear she understand every word I say. She used to just look over he shoulder at me but now she comes when called and gets in her bed when told. She is a great dog! The only thing she ever does wrong it that she will run if let loose so a secure fenced area or active person to leash walk is needed. She will also need better leash skills! Mazie will do best in a home without small children. She likes to herd them and will treat little ones like doggie friends.

History: Mazie was adopted out as a 8 week old puppy and returned to us when she was two b/c she was "untrained"!!! I don't know what dog they were looking at or whose fault that thought that was but she has been a perfect angel since moving back to us. She deserves a loving home.

Foster Home Notes: Lola just loves to hang out with you all day long. We were working in the yard and she stayed close so as not to miss anything but just laid around and napped and enjoyed the cooler September air. She is a great dog! She listens well and just wants to be loved. She stares at you with those longing eyes and you can resist petting her.

History: Lola and her bother Hollis were left behind at an animal sanctuary (farm b/c there was no county shelter)when their family moved and abandoned them. They have lived there for several years but since the main shelter building burned down, the sanctuary is being forced to close. Lola needs a new place to go, hopefully with someone who will love her, love her, love her! That is all she asks for in life!

Foster Home Notes: Must let your dog on the furniture, bed and love kisses! Must want a dog who is lazy, smart and full of lots of love! Must be someone who loves to give hugs to the dog! If there has ever been a perfect dog, Jillian is awfully close to being it. There is so much to say about this wonderful little girl with a spirit that can't be broken. Jillian thinks she weights 10 lbs and should be a lap dog. She is very stealthy! She climbs up on the bed and silently lays across the pillows. When the alarm goes off she wakes you with kisses and just wants to be hugged. She is so very smart and wonderfully sweet. She was totally housebroken, can sit, lay down and crawl on command. She spends her days laying in her chair (you will not get her to train off furniture), playing with her doggie friends and is constantly cleaning their faces and ears like the good mommy she once was. She will need a home with another dog as she gets stressed if she is alone but when she has another dog she is fine. She needs a home who will NOT leave her outside unattended for long periods or she won't be there when you go back out. She is just too smart for her own good. Remind me to tell you about the day I had her outside on leash but not tied to anything....she would crawl about 4 feet then look at me to see if I had noticed! LOL

History: Jillian lived as a stray in the North Georgia Mountains around Elijay for almost a year. She hung around going up to anyone who would let her and begging them to take her in. She slept on the front porch of different houses and spent her days running the woods looking for food. She had a litter of puppies and animal control came and got them but since she was out looking for food, the left her behind. Image how distraught she must have been when she came back! We got an email pleading for us to take her. We had no room but thought another group had agreed to help. Over a month later, the day before that ice storm in January, we got another email saying she had never been rescued. We dropped everything and went to get her. She came wagging out of the woods to see us and was happy to go in the car.

Foster Home Notes: She is a happy, loving, sweet wiggly hound dog! Lucky girl is very sweet and just wants to please and get lots of attention. She longs to be in a home where she can be properly loved. Lucky has most likely lived outside her whole life. She loves it but sits at the door all curled up just waiting to be let in or for her person to come out and visit with her. We would love to find her a foster or permanent home who would crate train her and make her a loving house pup. If not, then a great outdoor home who will care for her, love her and keep her healthy! If you want an outdoor dog, you must already have a dog as a companion.

History: Lucky girl was so named because she was dumped at a construction site, then when the contractor was driving her to the pound; she jumped out of the moving truck and tumbled across the road in front of an oncoming car. Amazingly, she was not hurt! Lucky for her the car was driven by a person who would take her home and try and find her a good home.

Foster Home Notes: Cupcake is deaf! She has quickly learned hand signals and flashes of light. She is a great dog! She loves to play and wrestle with the other dogs and just has a great time. She really adores the tiny puppies. She pounces around like a cat on toys and wiggles her butt in the air. She chases bugs and I got her a ball that rolls on its own and she was amazed for an hour! You can tell she loves life. She loves to go for rides in the car and loves everyone she meets. Cupcake thinks she is a small dog. She wants to put her front legs in your lap for attention and to get hugs. She is very sensitive and I think she has been hit a lot in the past by someone who didn't understand her disability. Cupcake is not aggressive at all but when she has food in her crate and other dogs walk by she thinks it is funny to jump at the crate door and scare them. You can almost see her laughing! Please review training materials for Deaf Dogs prior to applying to adopt this girl. She needs a special person and a special home to love her. She can NEVER be off leash in an un contained area because she can’t hear you to come back and she can’t hear cars. The only thing she seems to be able to "hear" is thunder and fireworks. She is WELL WORTH THE EFFORT! Cupcake is an amazing girl full of so much love it can' t be explained on paper.

History: Cupcake was left at the shelter. She wandered up on someone's property and although they liked her she was too big and playful for their smaller dogs so they brought her to the shelter where was sure to be killed if not rescued. Being a pit bull and deaf, the odds of her being adopted were very slim.

Foster Home Notes: What a sweet little doll baby! Shannon is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She gets attached quickly and will follow you around when you get home and make this little tiny whiny noises until you sit down and give her lots of love! She is so funny when you give her a treat she will go in the corner and hide to eat it. She is a very smart girl and listens well. I am still having to go outside with her each time b/c she is afraid I will leave her out there alone. She is completely housebroken too! She walks on a leash but it timid of cars and new things. She will need more exposure to get past this but you can tell she wants to explore. Shannon gets along well with other dogs but is growly over her food bowl if another dog tries to check it out. She is totally submissive to people though!

History: Shannon was left at an animal sanctuary farm when her owner left and said she would be back in two weeks. that was almost 2 years ago and they never came back. Shannon has lived in a small fenced yard with a big dog house and another dog for those two years. Waiting and watching for her people to come back. Now, the main building of the sanctuary has burned down and the shelter is now being closed for good. Shannon has no where to go.

Foster Home Notes: Radar is a complete goober! He is very loving and SMART too! Look at the photo. He went to sleep at the adoption and covered his eyes with his paw to block the light! He is a great dog but he is all puppy and all boy!! He loves to romp in the water, play fetch and wrestle and roll with the other dogs. However, if he has his choice, he will lay on the foot of your bed and chew on a bone, toy or something he has stolen (so keep your eyes open! - he love water bottles). He tries so hard to focus and will sit and wait for treats but the whole time you can see his little butt wiggling with anxiousness. He can lay down too but flips over for belly rubs. He listens very well and just needs a home with lots of love and patience and time to train him. Radar will need a home with a high fenced yard where he can play ball and burn off some energy or someone very active to walk him. He is such a sweet baby with a huge heart and so goofy all the time! We are taking him to a huge doggie swimming pool to do dock diving in a few weeks so stay tuned for photos! He will have a blast!

History: Radar was picked up stray by Animal Control and never claimed. His time was up so we took him in to find him a home.

Foster Home Notes: Meet Miss Magnolia. Magnolia is a true Southern Belle. She's beautiful, sweet and probably one of the most loving and gentle dogs we've ever fostered. She is housetrained, polite and very good on the leash. Magnolia is also very quiet. She will occasionally talk with us to let us know it's potty time but we've heard her bark only a few times when someone came to the door. Magnolia is very healthy, easy to have in the house and also a great medium sized dog at 46 lbs. Her coat is very shiny and she has the most beautiful eyes that will melt your heart. She loves her fluffy dog bed and will sleep all night in that same place on her bed.

History: She was rescued from a shelter in Alabama and not a day passes that she doesn't seem appreciative that someone finally came and got her! She is such a pleasure and we know the perfect family will find her and give her the life and love she deserves. Magnolia can best be described as a 5-Star pooch .

Foster Home Notes: Ralph is a very happy, friendly boy. He loves to be loved and minds very well. You can tell he is very smart, he just hasn't had the right home yet. So far we have him sitting, laying down, coming, and heeling on command. He is very gentle and calm for a young boy. He is just an easy going boy. He is great with children and submissive to other dogs.

History: Ralph was picked up as a stray and left at Animal Control. The lady who found him could bare for him to be killed so she adopted him back out when his time was up and called us for help placing him.

Foster Home Notes: Molly is a precious little angel. She is quiet and docile and just just wants to hang out. She is one of the laziest dogs we have ever seen! LOL She loves to lay on the bed and cuddle and just watch television. Being brought to our home to find a new home has been a dream come true for her, no doubt. She spends her days laying around and her nights cuddling in the lap of our son. Even though Molly is lazy, she would love to go for leash walks in the park or to the bus stop. She loves to ride in the car and is very gentle and sweet to everyone she meets. She is totally housebroken and very healthy and happy!

History: Molly was left behind by her owners when they moved. She was taken to an animal sanctuary in Alabama where she has lived for over a year. We have taken her into our program to find her a new loving forever home! Molly has lived outside for that year and is more then relieved and completely comfortable to be back inside on a sofa!
