Dharma is very smart and high energy when there is a ball involved. She loves to chase a ball and will do so for as long as you will throw it. She also knows how to entertain herself. She will go to the top of the hill and roll the ball down so she can chase it or she will just chew on it for a while. When inside, she loves her toys and bones but also wants to sit next to you on the couch and get lots of love. She is very chill when inside. Dharma goes in her crate on command and sits for treats. She listens very well and gets along great with all dogs and humans. She hasn't been around a cat so I don't know how she would be.

Krissy is a very shy little girl with new people but she warms up very quickly. She LOVES to play and has thoroughly enjoyed not only raising her litter of pups but taking on the role of surrogate mom to another litter b/c that mom wants to have her own life. LOL Krissy plays all day with the puppies. She breaks up scuffles and she makes then chase her with toys. She loves to be outside and will lounge on her dog bed on the deck for hours. She is so funny when she gets excited. She will rake the ground backwards with all four feet like a bull and whine. She is so full of love and personality. She is protective of the yard and will bark if someone goes by but she isn't aggressive she is just warning them :)

She needs a home without small kids since we have never had her around them and she is so shy. She REQUIRES A SECURE FENCED YARD. She freaks out on a leash and we have been unable to work with her b/c we have so many dogs at the kennel house. She needs someone who will be patient and let her come to you b/c it may take a couple of days and it will take a few weeks for her to get comfortable in a new home with new people. Don't let her shyness scare you off. She is such an awesome dog.

Krissy was living stray and pregnant in an industrial complex in Marietta. No one knows where she came from but most likely she was dumped. She was so scared and wouldn't come to anyone so we had to set a trap. Bless her heart, she was so hungry she went right inside. She has been with us since the end of May 2014

Miss Macy has heartworms. We need to raise $400 to complete her treatment. She also needs a nice home or foster home to recover.

Donate by clicking the donation link on the left of this page

Macy is a wonderfully sweet girl but very shy of new things and new poeple. She is very attached to her foster mom who loves on her and spoils her rotten. Sadly her foster mom just can't keep her b/c she has a few other dogs as well. We need to find this wonderful girl a loving forever home as soon as possible and let her transition with a few visits before leaving her. She would do best in a home with someone home alot or who has time in the evenings to spend with her. She has been a wonderful mother to her puppies and is now in need of a ome of her own. She has never been loved or had a real home until now.

Macy is heartworm positive. We need to settle her into a new home so we can treat her heartworms. Forgotten paws is responsible for this treatment, not the new home.

Roxy is a very good girl who loves to play with the other dogs and walk through the baby pool. She listens well and is totally housebroken. She loves to play chase, toss around toys and lounge on the deck. She really adores tennis balls but any toy will do. I do crate her still when I am not gone b/c if I do not, she will have a potty issue. She would do great in a home that is consistent or a home with a dog door. She is very smart she just needs someone to treat her well and put a little effort into her. I have no idea why her owner dumped her at the highest kill shelter in the state but her time was up and she had only been there for 30 minutes. This shelter has no room for owner turn in's so they kill them immediately! Roxy was a lucky girl that I was there that day at 8.30 am! Roxy needs a home with a secure fenced yard or someone to leash walk her. She is a great dog park dog or dog walking dog bc/ she is good with all dogs, kids, people, etc. Look at this face, she needs you.

Foster Home Notes: URGENT FOSTER NEEDED - Scarlett has been living in the kennel for over two months. She is going stir crazy and needs to get into a foster home ASAP!

Scarlett is a sweet girlw ith people. She is over the top loving, full of kisses and happy butt wiggles. She loves to lpay with toys, chase balls and get lot of love. Unfortunately, she is not good with other dogs. She has lived with two small chihuahua's before and played with them. The previous owner told me it took several weeks of slow introductions for them to be able to be together. Larger dogs are not an option. When she see's a larger dog she reacts very poorly.

Scarlett has to be contained in a very tall fence when outside or on leash at all times. She can not be able to get out and get to other dogs. I do think that with socialization training Scarlett can over come this. We had a pit that was trained to fight that adjusted to normal life and could be with other dogs once. Scarlett just needs the help. She is SO WORTH IT!

Amanda is a funny, young hearted girl who loves to explore the backyard, go for walks and chase squirrels. She bounces when she's happy and loves everyone she meets. She sleeps well all night on her dog bed and is ready to go outside to potty first thing in the morning. Amanda loves chew bones like raw hides, durabones, etc. I pulled her from a kill shelter on her last day available. I thought she was a senior dog by her coloring but her teeth are great and the vet said that's just her coloring! She does need training on leash. She pulls hard to go where she wants to go. Don't let this little girls grey coloring on her face and feet fool you, she's a happy, loving angel.

Sabrina is a love bug. S he is great with other dogs, cats and people once she knows you. She has always been shy from the day I pulled her out from under a tree. Her mother, McKenzie, listed below, and her siblings, were living alone in the woods under a fallen tree where the pups were born. I had seen McKenzie and followed her to find her puppies. Sabrina was the last one I got out bc she ran to the back and growled at me. LOL She was only 3 weeks old! As a puppy Sabrina was the first to play with toys and she loved her ball but no one ever adopted her. As she grew up in a house/kennel with 30 other dogs, she started to retreat into a shell and became very shy. This happens to alot of the dogs that don't get adopted quickly. She and her mother were adopted a year ago together and just recently returned b/c the new owner has some major health issues. Sabrina has lived with cats now and she ignores them. She is very smart and LOVES car rides. If you open the car door she is in there in a second and won't get out until she has a ride!

Sabrina is totally housebroken, wants to be on the bed but is perfectly happy in her own bed. She does not need a crate but she does need a fenced yard. We are looking for a home to spoil her. A home with no kids b/c I think they would scare her to death. If you are open to adopting two, please consider her mother as well. There is a special monetary deal for both b/c they love each other so much.

TESS is a wonderfully sweet, playful and loving 8 year old lab mix, 43 lbs. She is a perfect angel at her foster home. She lives in an apartment and goes for leash walks. She grew up living in a garage with a fenced yard. She was never allowed inside and one day when she dug out of her yard and killed the neighbors pet bunny rabbit they had outside, her owner dumped her at animal control to be killed! Luckily, within hours, another neighbor who loved Tess, ran to the shelter and saved her. However, she couldn't keep her b/c her dog is dog aggressive. That is how we ended up with Tess.

Tess is great with everyone outside the home. She is great with dogs, kids and all adults. Inside however, she is terrified of men. She barks at them and freaks out when men are in the house as if they are a rodent she needs to sound the alarm about. I think with the right man, she would adjust but she is terrified of tall, large men ONLY WHEN INDOOR. There is obviously a history behind this we do not know. Also b/c of the bunny incident we are ruling out a home with cats!

Please give Tess a chance. We have had her for 5 months and no one even glances at her at adoption events b/c she sits in the back of her pen and won't go to anyone. She is a great dog for a woman!

Mozzie is a wonderfuly sweet and smart boy. He loves when I talk to him and will stare right me tilting his head back and forth like he actually knows what I am saying. He is very playful with other dogs at the kennel house. He sleeps free run of the house but is crated when I am not home. All my dogs are crated. He goes in his crate when told and naps like a champ. Mozzie is a little standoffish at first. He doesn't go up to stranger people but will observe them then get close enough for a sniff. Once he deems you acceptable then you may pet him. :) He is okay on walks but needs you to lead. He is a follower and hasn't been on walks very often so it is a whole new big world out there that he hasn't experienced. Mozzie has been raised in the kennel house so he is good with dogs larger then him and tiny ones. He totally ignores the 4 lbs Maltese even when the maltese tries to take charge. I can almost see Mozzie roll his eyes. LOL

*Fenced yard and another dog is required

Cheddar has always been the shyest one of the litter. He and Mozzie would hang back when people came to visit, just to watch and wait and see, while the siblings were all about the love from strangers. They still spend alot of time together. Cheddar does love to play and he gets so excited to see me when I get home. He is a very happy dog when he is comfortable in his surroundings. He has been at the kennel house with his siblings and mom all his life.

Cheddar needs a home with no kids unless they are teenagers. He also requires a fenced yard. I took Cheddar on a home visit to a very nice guy and his dog and Cheddar totally shut down b/c he was so scared. He hide in the corner then under a bush in the yard. He only came out when I brought my familiar dog out of the car to the yard. A move to a new home is going to be emotional for him so a new mom or dad will have to understand this about his personality. Once he is comfortable he is wonderful!

Walnut is a very happy, playful boy. He gets along great wth all the dogs at the kennel house and is very submissive when playing. He listens well. He sits, comes, goes in his crate on command and outside to potty. He loves toys too. He will chase a ball but to be honest, I am not sure if he is chasing the ball or the others dogs running for the ball. LOL He is good on leash, loves to go for walks and is great at the dog park. Walnut has never met a stranger and loves everyone instantly.

Fletcher is a good boy but has been very overwhelmed at our kennel house. For some reason the other boys want to pick on him :( He is good on a leash, loves toys and scratches behind the ears but he he is a little shy of people. I don't think he has had much human handling in his life and being at the kennel house he is just one of many. :( He is great with all my dogs, large and small. He loves the baby pool and playing chase. He will chase a ball but not bring it back just yet. When inside he likes to find a nice blanket wiht a toy or chew bone. He follows me with a little prance everytime I head towards the kitchen or back door.

Fletcher requires a secure fence yard or leash walking. We have discovered that he can get through just about any hole in a fence. He is cvery cat-like. We prefer a home with older kids simply b/c he has gotten a little jumpy since being at the kennel house and he needs a quiet home to settle down in.

Lucy is as sweet and smart as she is beautiful. She is young and playful. She loves to play with the other dogs and will dart back and forth tempting them to chase her. She is good with her toys and will put them in the other dogs face to play. She goes in her crate on command and sleeps all night. She has been completely housebroken so far but we have only had her a short while so we are still learning her ques.

Lucy is a very active dog and will require someone who exercises a lot or is willing to go outside and play with her in a fenced area. Due ot her breed, I would not suggest she be in a short fence unsupervised. When she first go there, I saw her checking out the top of my privacy fence judging it!

Baby is happy all the time. Her butt wiggles non-stop and she is constantly smiling with her mouth and her eyes. She lvoes toys, is great with other dogs and is learning to walk on a leash. She gets so excited though she can barely contain herself. :) She needs a secure fenced yard to run and play and someone who has the time to dedicate to a little training. I think once in a new home she will settle down b/c there will far less stimulation and constant activity. She is a total love bug as well and each night she curls up on a dog bed next to my bed and sleeps all night. When I am not home I do crate her b/c I crate all the dogs and she goes in her bed on command. She is very smart and very eager to please

Brie is a very well behaved girl. He foster mom raves about her all the time. She loves to go for walks and she stays free in the house while mom is at work. Brie sleeps on dog bed or sometimes her foster moms bed. :) She is very social and loves everyone. She will get a little excited and talkative when she see's strange dogs on her walks but all she wants to do is say hi. Her vocal expressions sometimes make other people nervous so we are working on that. It isn't barking or growling it is something totally different and hard to explain. Brie is great with kids and other dogs. She loves toys and balls and bones of course!

She sadly, never gets any attention. We have had Brie for over a year. She came to us full of puppies. Two of her pups are still available as well. (see Cheddar and Mozzie above)

DONATIONS ARE NEEDED FOR BRYSONS KNEE SURGERY

Bryson is a sweet little man. He was so full of life until he twisted his knee and now must have surgery on it. He was jus tplaying his heart out then suddenly was limping.

His personality is wonderful. He hasn't had much human contact so he is shy and quiet with people. He love sto be loved and will sit in front of me and give me gentle kisses. His true personality is that of a jack russell. He likes to go! He likes to walk, run, play. He likes to chase toys and throw ropes in the air, etc. He is great with kids and other dogs but has not been with cats.

Bryson was an owner turn-in. She had adopted him out of Fulton County Animal Control then decided she didn't want him. She kept him locked in a bathroom most of the time for several months. This poor little man has never really had a home that loved him.

Henry Oh Henry what a love bug! Henry is very cuddly and loving. He lays on my bed and I wake up each morning with his head on my pillow or my shoulder. :) I do crate him when I am going to be gone for a long time but he is free-run most of the time. Henry is very gentle and happy. At first he seems shy and afraid but within minutes he has assessed the situation and becomes his happy bouncy self. He is also very submissive. When he runs up to you for love, he immediately rolls over for belly rubs. He refuses to walk on a leash so far. He just rolls over. He loves to explore the yard and bask in the sun. He hates the rain so I have to walk outside with him.

I think Henry must have come from a home with kids b/c he loves them. He also won't take food from my hand so many be was trained to not take food from the kids hands? I am just guessing here. He was a stray picked up by Henry County animal control so we really don't know his history. However, he has been with us since late April '15 so he has been around for a while.

Kylie is a very happy, playful girl who just wants to be loved and to please. She is still very bouncy having spent her life on the streets of Atlanta with no training but she is learning quickly. She knows that she needs all four paws on the ground to be loved on but she seems to forget herself and stand up on me still. She geos in her crate when told and is completely housebroken. She and Dharma (another dog for adoption) play all day. They play chase, tug, chase squirrels. She has alot of puppy energy in her but she is also a huge cuddle bug. When she is tired she is so precious. She tries to keep her head up but her eyes keep closing and he head starts to fall, then she will pop back up until she just finally gives in an falls over and goes to sleep. LOL She will need leash training.
