In October 2024, I was told of a very skinny, injured young dog being fed by a neighbor. I was able to get her, have her put on stray hold with no microchip. No one claimed her. She was put on pain meds until she rest & could be evaluated. The doctor was very happy with how she is healing and so we pushed on with more activity, more play time to see how she handled it. Her hip socket has healed the best it’s going to get and the hope is she will form a soft socket around the femoral head to reduce pain from impact. The prognosis is “wait and see” again so that’s what we did!

Avery is a fabulous girl. She loves to play with the other dogs, is housebroken, crate trained, and a sweetheart. Loud noises and loud voices scare her a little and she is shy of strangers. When volunteers come she wants nothing to do with them and when she hears men’s deep voices she retreats.

Avery needs a gentle home with someone to have the patience to allow her to settle in. At this point she is not on any medication and has no special needs except a soft bed.
